Collyweston Slate presented by Nigel Smith draws in a big crowd. On Monday night's meeting of Collyweston Historical and Preservation Society over 60 people attended a fascinating talk by Nigel Smith of Claude N Smith, Collyweston Slater's, on the history of Collyweston slating and re-opening of their mine at slate Drift using new high tech methods to extract the stone "logs" from underground. Thanks to everyone who attended. More interesting and exciting talks scheduled for 2019.
