Collyweston Slate presented by Nigel Smith draws in a big crowd. On Monday night's meeting of Collyweston Historical and Preservation Society over 60 people attended a fascinating talk by Nigel Smith of Claude N Smith, Collyweston Slater's, on the history of Collyweston slating and re-opening of their mine at slate Drift using new high tech methods to extract the stone "logs" from underground.
